Milan's quarter-finals come today after a round of 16 that knocked out the fifth seeds and sent eight in-form pairs into Friday. Away from the Allianz Cloud, the FIP tour reaches a new country and a Bradford club shows padel working as a route into health conversations.

The tour

Garrido and De Pascual knock out Navarro and Di Nenno in Milan. The unseeded pair beat the fifth seeds 6-2, 6-3 in Thursday's round of 16 at the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1, and now meet Lebrón and Augsburger, who beat Alonso and Goñi 6-4, 6-2. Libaak and Alfonso continued their run by beating eighth seeds Yanguas and Lijó 6-1, 7-6, earning a quarter-final against defending champions Galán and Chingotto, who lost only two games against Gil and Valenzuela. Top seeds Coello and Tapia beat Jiménez and Arroyo 6-2, 6-2 and play sixth seeds Guerrero and Leal, while Stupaczuk and Sanz face González and Campagnolo, who came through in three sets against Bergamini and Bautista. Seven of the eight women's seeds reach the quarter-finals. Top seeds Brea and Triay beat Caldera and Cánovas 6-0, 6-3 and open today's play at 9am Spanish time against Eugenio and Velasco, who knocked out seventh seeds Guinart and Alonso in the first round. Josemaría and González needed 2 hours 37 minutes to beat Rufo and Iglesias in three sets, and Icardo and Jensen ended Virseda and Fassio's two-tournament winning streak 7-6, 6-1. Padel Addict lists the semi-finals from 2pm on Saturday and the finals from 3pm on Sunday, Spanish time. Sources: FIP, Padel Addict (Spanish)

Internationals

The CUPRA FIP Tour reaches Benin for the first time. FIP Bronze Cotonou runs from 15 to 17 October, with the semi-finals and finals on Saturday. Portugal's Gustavo Nunes and Spain's Tonet Sans, finalists at the Baku Bronze, start as men's favourites, and Mafalda Marques and Patricia Ribeiro are top seeds in the women's draw. The players

Stupaczuk says he no longer relies on jumping and power. Speaking at the Germany P2, the Argentine told Padel Addict he is a more complete player than three or four years ago, pointing to a better bandeja, víbora and rulo and smarter changes of position. He still builds his game on backhand counter-attacks, getting to the net early and speed. On his new partnership with Jon Sanz, he said they complement each other because both like to move forward together without hesitating. Source: Padel Addict (Spanish)

Business and tech

Babolat details Juan Lebrón's 2027 rackets. The range has three diamond-shaped, head-heavy models: the Viper at €389.95 with a 3K carbon face and hard EVA core, the Viper Soft at €299.95 with a softer carbon face, and the Veron at €239.95, which mixes carbon and fibreglass for intermediate players. Weights run from 360g to 370g, and all three share Babolat's 3D Spin surface. Padel Addict says the collection was first shown on a court beneath the Eiffel Tower during the Paris Major. Clubs and community

A Bradford club uses padel to open up conversations about the menopause. Salus Padel ran a pilot called Padel & Pause with a British Menopause Society accredited specialist and a chartered physiotherapist, aimed particularly at South Asian women who can be reluctant to talk about it. About 30 women came, almost all trying padel for the first time, and the session included blood pressure and cholesterol checks, healthy food and movement exercises before going on court. "Padel is actually the secondary bit," owner Waseem Khan told The Padel Paper. The club and Bene Leisure also pledge 100 free court hours a month, with equipment, to Bradford schools and voluntary groups. Source: The Padel Paper
