The tour
Alfonso celebrates his call-up by beating Leal and Guerrero again. Hours after his selection, Gonza Alfonso and Tino Libaak came from a set down to beat Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 in the Germany P2 round of 32, a week after knocking the same pair out in Rotterdam. New pair Íñigo Jofre and Juanlu Esbrí also needed three sets, and the women's draw opened with Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno winning from a set down. The round of 16 begins at 9am local time today, when the top four seeds in both draws play their first matches. Source: Padel Addict (Spanish) and Padel Addict (Spanish)

The race for second place tightens. Padel Addict's reading of the Race to the Premier Padel Finals after Rotterdam has Coello and Tapia on 13,220 points, 1,780 clear of Galán and Chingotto. In the women's race Triay and Brea lead on 11,480, with Josemaría and González on 8,840 just 160 points ahead of Sánchez and Ustero, a gap that was 400 after Paris. The players
Campagnolo splits from Drop Shot after twelve years. Lucas Campagnolo, ranked a career-high 15th, announced in a Portuguese-language message that his partnership with Drop Shot had ended and that the separation had not happened as he would have wished, without giving reasons. Several of the brand's Explorer rackets carried his name. The next day he took the court in Düsseldorf in Nike clothing with an unbranded racket. Nike has not announced any padel products or player deals, and Campagnolo has not named a new sponsor. Source: Actu Padel (French) and Padel Addict (Spanish)

adidas puts Zidane's name on two rackets. The Metalbone ZZ Carbon, at 300 euros with a 6K carbon face, and the Metalbone ZZ Team, at 180 euros with a fibreglass face, are now listed on the adidas French site. Zinedine Zidane has played padel for years and runs Z5 clubs in Aix-en-Provence and Istres, with 18 courts between them. It is the brand's first racket collaboration with the former footballer. A physio's app for staying off the treatment table. Just Muv, built by Chilean sports physiotherapist Isabel Rencoret, generates personalised routines of 10 to 50 minutes for injury prevention, functional strength and pre-match activation, and tracks eight attributes from mobility to endurance on a radar chart. It is on both app stores in five languages with a free tier and paid plans. Six months after launch the company says it has 1,500 registered users in more than 30 countries, with Spain its biggest European market. Source: Padel Addict (Spanish)

New clubs
Britain's first floating courts are open in Liverpool. Vibora Liverpool Waters opened two courts on pontoons at Princes Dock on 26 September, with a third to follow later this year. The platforms came from Finland and the courts from Spain. A court costs £55 an hour, bookings run through Playtomic from 7am to 10pm daily, and corporate and event hire is offered alongside a clubhouse on the dock. Co-founder Gareth Evans told Actu Padel that the first days had shown how strong the appetite for padel is in the city. Source: Actu Padel (French)

Four more courts for Peterborough, this time at a garden centre. Pulse Padel plans to open three covered doubles courts and one uncovered court at the Blue Diamond Garden Centre in Peterborough in November, its second site after Huntingdon opened in late August. The city already has a 12-court Groove Padel club due this autumn, which we covered on Sunday. Source: Peterborough Matters via Yahoo
